Bowing before the constitution before beginning his address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi struck a conciliatory note after being elected leader of the NDA on Saturday.
Modi noted that 2019 was a pro-incumbency election indicating the thread of trust linking the people and the government. The election had broken down the walls between different social groups, he said.
“We are here for those who trusted us. We are also here for those whose trust we are yet to win,” he said.
Importantly, Modi added that the government must gain the trust of the minorities. “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikaas Sabka Vishwaas is our mantra,” he added.
