Don’t touch body of person driving vehicle and baton should not be use: DGP Lokanath Behera

State police chief Lokanath Behera has given special instructions to district police chiefs to take strict measures on vehicle inspection. The DGP has directed to capture pictures when conducting vehicle inspections. He has also instructed not to touch the body of the person driving the vehicle and that baton should not be used at any cost. If any lapses are occurred on it, then the district police chiefs will be responsible for it. The checking should be conducted by a four-member team including a sub inspector. One from the team should capture the pictures.

A cop hurling a baton at a motorist during vehicle inspection at Kadakkal in Kollam had stoked a controversy. The youth sustained serious injuries and following the incident the police officer was suspended. The cop Chandramohan hurled a batorn at the youth identified as Siddique and losing control he went and hit another vehicle. Siddique has been admitted at the medical college hospital. The incident happened during helmet hunt. The locals in protest against the incident besieged the Paripally Madathara Road.
