Health Minister K. K. Shailaja in a government press release said that 20 new COVID-19 positive cases have been confirmed in Kerala on Sunday, taking the number of people undergoing treatment for coronavirus in Kerala to 181. The 20 new coronavirus positive cases were confirmed in seven districts-8 from Kannur, 7 from Kasaragod and one each from Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts.
Among the new cases, 18 had returned from abroad. Two contracted the disease through contact. One among the cases is a health official from Ernakulam who screened passengers at the Cochin International Airport.
So far, 202 persons have been tested COVID-19 positive in Kerala. 1.41 lakh people are under observation in the state.
