Bringing a big relief to boozers, liquor shops in Kerala will reopen on Wednesday or Thursday.The virtual queue app for buying liquor as parcel is being kept ready and a trial run of the app will be held on Tuesday.
This trial is done to ensure the efficacy of the software.Only after this, the sale of liquor will begin. A start-up company called ‘Faircode Technologies’ in Kochi has created the app.
Ever since the lockdown came into effect from March 25, all liquor shops and bars have remained shut.In between, the attempt of government to allow home delivery of liquor was struck down by the high court. The state government is now of the stand that liquor sale should be resume only after completing all the formalities.
