Passenger of Jan Shatabdi tests positive for COVID-19

A passenger of Kannur-Thiruvananthapuram Jan Shatabdi Express tested positive for COVID-19. He is a native of Kanya Kumari. He started his journey from Kozhikode before his test results came.

A contract employee of KSEB working at Kunnamangalam in Kozhikode developed uneasiness and following that sent his swab samples for testing. On knowing that his pregnant wife has been admitted in the hospital, he left for his native place without waiting for the results.

When the health workers in Kozhikode came to know that he left the place informed the health workers in Thrissur but by the time, the train had left from there. He was later dropped at Ernakulam North railway station and was admitted at Kalamassery Hospital.

There were three passengers in the compartment along with him. It was later sealed after shifting them from there. Steps will be taken to disinfect all the bogies when the train reaches Thiruvananthapuram.
