COVID: Kerala reports 6028 new cases on Friday; 5213 cases through contact, 28 deaths

Kerala confirmed 6028 cases of COVID-19 on Friday, health minister KK Shailaja informed. Among this, 5213 persons developed the disease through contact including 654 cases without an identified source of infection. 105 persons who came from outside the state also tested positive for the virus. 56 health workers tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 6398 patients tested negative for the virus today.

The state recorded 28 COVID deaths on Friday with the toll rising to 1997.

In the last 24 hours, 60,365 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 9.98.

With the addition of 3 new regions today and the removal of 11, there are 557 hotspots in the state.
